Here I am with another post wondering how I should be spending my time and energy. Sorry if you’re getting tired of hearing about it, but life is getting too short to waste time doing things that don’t matter to other people or to me. We’ve all been given specific strengths and I don’t want to be wasting my time trying to do things I’m not meant to and aren’t helpful to others.
Today I was listening to a weekly faith-based coaching call and the conversation was about how maybe everything we have learned is so that we can fulfill our life’s purpose, not just so we can find a hole in the market and fill it.
For example, Moses learned about leadership so that later he could fulfill his life’s purpose of leading the children of Israel out of Egypt and to the good land. It’s making me wonder if I’ve been learning online marketing for a reason I don’t yet understand, rather than as a goal to pursue in itself.
I’ve been thinking about the possibility of starting a membership site. At first I thought maybe it should be to help people to share their expertise online. But now I’m wondering if maybe it shouldn’t be anything to do with marketing on the Internet.
Instead, maybe my learning and doing online marketing all these years is so I would have the ability to create an online platform as a means for dealing with some other issue.
In my volunteer work, I’ve begun to realize how much relational poverty exists today. Maybe that should be my focus – finding ways to interact, encourage, and help people realize they are not alone and that they matter.
My motivational videos have always had the most positive feedback of all my posts and I’m getting the same interaction since starting the Purpose For Your Life podcasts. I love hearing and telling stories about people achieving in spite of their challenges and it seems you do too.
I’m not sure if any of this makes sense, but as you can see, I need your help to direct my future path. Once I’ve decided that, my website will change as well. I would love to hear your thoughts about what I’ve said above and how you are following your own life purpose.
